Leadership, Civics and You© is a facilitated learning experience and guidebook to help students explore the kind of leaders they are, or want to be, and how that leadership can impact the world for the better, inviting participants to think about themselves, think about their communities’ needs, and make action plans to get involved in the issues they care about the most.
Students participate in a series of workshops encompassing reflections, activities, and actionable steps using the Leadership, Civics and You© curriculum to help youth understand their unique leadership style and how to apply it to address the issues that matter most to them.
Leadership, Civics, and You is also an approved civics learning program for high-school students who are pursuing the Arizona Department of Education’s Seal of Civics Literacy (Category 1, 2, and 3). Students who complete all requirements for the Seal are recognized with a seal on their graduation diploma and a notation on their transcripts.
The program is offered through a partnership with school districts. Any interested district and/or school leaders should contact Dawn Wallace for more information.
Start Date: Program begins in August and January
End Date: Each cohort runs for ten weeks during the school semester
Schedule: Once per week, 2 hour sessions over 10 weeks
