About the Program

Mission and Goals: To teach youth about important people and events in American history

Every Scout swears to an oath that includes duty to their country. A better understanding of American heritage, the ways in which the past has lead to our present nation, is key to truly knowing what it means to be an American.

Rewrite Declaration of Independence section, discuss importance
Compare political leaders and private citizen contributions to American Heritage
Research organizations promoting positive societal change
Interview veterans about experiences, accomplishments
Interview community members on America’s meaning, traditions
Explain current U.S. news, and historical connections
Describe US flag history, Pledge of Allegiance, National Seal, National motto, US anthem history and impact on America
Research family history and how family came to America
Explain National Register, map local historic sites
Discuss career opportunities in American heritage

Is This Right For Me?

Start Date: Year-round

Schedule: Usually weekly meetings

Location: Hybrid (both zoom + in person)

Cost: $85 (one-time fee to join the organization)

Financial Benefits: Scholarships are available

Age Range: 16-24

Application Deadline: July 1, 2026
