Girl Scouts Beyond Bars – Civic Engagement Series

About the Program

Mission and goals: To provide a better understanding of democracy, allow girls to discover more about current legislation, connect with leaders and resources in the community and take action on a cause that is important to them.

Program Summary: Girls will gain a greater understanding of local, state, and national governments while taking a deeper dive into legislation supporting the rights of children of incarcerated parents. Participants will earn their level-specific Democracy badge and complete the Senior/Ambassador Take Action Award.

End Date: May 2026

Schedule: 1st and 3rd Thursdays March – May

Location: In-person

Cost: $45 annual GS Membership fee

Financial Benefits: N/A

Age Range: Girls in grades 9 – 12

Application Deadline: February 15, 2026
