The Nurture program creates leadership development and student engagement programming. Aliento works with high schools, colleges and universities to increase youth agency, leadership, and self-advocacy. The Arizona’s Future Fellowship program is a leadership development program for high school and college students in Arizona to practice self-advocacy skills and utilize the organizing principles. The goal is for the students to create a safe space and share stories of impacted immigrations within their schools and communities.
As part of the Fellowship, students will execute a minimum of 3 events within their school campus to inform, advocate, and provide support access to higher education, mental health, and issues for immigrant students of different immigration backgrounds. Through the larger Nurture program, students will have the opportunity to participate in programming to take leadership to educate, nurture, and develop other youth and community members.
Our program serves youth – high school and college students between the ages of 14-25, and specifically serves students, Dreamers, and immigrant families. Our program is led by directly impacted individuals, youth, and supporters.
The program is primarily offered in the Metro-Phoenix area. However, participants can be from across Arizona; we have programming opportunities in Tucson, AZ.

End Date: May 2027
Schedule: Fellowship participants must meet a monthly cohort training from August – May. In addition, they’ll need to attend a weekly 1:1 coaching meeting with an Aliento team member.
